With news of the latest traffic accident in Norfolk, Virginia (VA), it seems there is no place you are safe from careless drivers.  Unbelievably a car slammed into a gas pump during an accident Wednesday in Norfolk.  How many times have you been pumping gas, while your children waved at you through the window?   What would happen if a car came hurtling across the median and smashed into you?  There would be no time to react, it would be catastrophic.

Three vehicles were involved in the 7 a.m. crash at the Shell gas station on N. Military Highway, according to police spokeswoman.  Not surprisingly several of the accident victims were injured and taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

When the crash happened in front of the gas station, one of the vehicles veered into the gas station parking lot and hit a gas pump.  It does not appear than anyone was hurt while at the pump and police did not release any information regarding charges or what may have caused the crash.

My thoughts go out to the people injured in the accident and I wish them a speedy recovery.  Most were probably on their way to work.  Chain reaction crashes, or multi-vehicle accidents can often be confusing even for those involved.  The insurance claims are likewise frustrating for those injured.
